You know, we have an unquenchable thirst for table tennis, and so does almost everyone we meet. Continuing our commitment to collaboration we are colluding with artists local to us that featured in the Spill festival's National Platform to present an alluring crossover of performance and ping pong.
There are four shows, a barbecue, and Ping Pong. The Ping Pong is used as an interview tool, each artist playing the other and asking a question or two, then the audience may play and ping pong interview someone or hold a ping pongersation. Yes, a post show ping pong love match interview! What will happen? How will it work? Here are the shows:
Taylan Halici // Flood London
Elyssa Livergant // A Kiss from the Last Red Squirrel
Tim Jeeves // A Pound of Flesh
Mamoru Iriguchi // Pregnant?!?
The first show starts at 4pm.
SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE.
Wraps up at 10pm
Taylan Halici // Flood London
Elyssa Livergant // A Kiss from the Last Red Squirrel
Strawberry preserves, Yiddish language lessons and a battle for survival between red and grey squirrels. A Kiss from the Last Red Squirrel is an intimately political solo performance about attempts to hold on to what you love.
Introduction to floodlondon uses live action, recorded audio and online podcasts to create a piece that extends beyond the spatial and temporal limits of the studio space.
Tim Jeeves // A Pound of Flesh
Trade various actions (including sex and violence) for Coin to spend later!
In yesterday’s culture of global capitalism, faceless encounters led to anonymous interchange with homogenous suppliers. As a new currency and system of trade, A Pound of Flesh provides a happy injection of personality into today’s vision of tomorrow’s free market.
Mamoru Iriguchi // Pregnant?!?
Mamoru Iriguchi returns to STK with a developed version first seen here in November 08
A performance lecture with big(gish) screen projection by a psuedo-pregnant male, tracing his journey on overly intimate relationships with others that take place in and around his imaginary womb.
