Welcome back to our new monthly Friday Folk night. Along with Two For Joy, London’s hottest folk promotion and programming outfit, Stoke Newington International Airport is fulfilling our promise to host London’s hottest folk night! Yeah! HOT FOLK!
Last month’s launch was a stonking folk rave with wonderful music and an incredible crowd, proudly living up to your high expectations for London’s finest off-the-radar backyard art space.
This time we have a selection of artists at the more experimental end of the vast and dusty folk spectrum, and we have a special guest too. So, if the next one is even half as good as the last one, you’ll be sorry to have missed it. We are dedicated to bringing you high quality good times at all times and at a fraction of the hassle. We are Stoke Newington International Airport.

The Woodlarks:
The Woodlarks, Brona McVittie and Tanya Jackson, met at the Magpie's Nest a year ago at a singaround. Now, courtesy of Spring records in Rostrevor, County Down, they bring you songs from their first EP, 'Truth is a fixed star', featuring interpretations of traditional British and American folk songs recorded in the short space of an hour. The day after the session, local radio DJ Rowan Hand invited them to feature on his show on the Northern Ireland station, Five FM. "Truth is a fixed star" takes its title from the lyrics of "Eileen Aroon", popularised by the Clancy brothers.
